Medical advice and vaccination

Before travelling, it is advised to go to a doctor for medical advice on how to prepare for the journey. In many cases, your doctor will recommend preventive vaccinations, especially if you are going further afield. The extent of the vaccinations before you travel abroad should be determined by your doctor at the nearest vaccination point. Whether and which vaccinations will be recommended to depends on the route , the date, length and conditions of travel. Let’s take care of this element of preparations for the trip for the sake of your health and that of your loved ones.

Traveler’s first aid kit

Remember to complete a first-aid kit with medicines and dressing materials before the trip. Do not forget important documents: insurance policies and International Vaccination Certificates (if necessary), children’s health books etc. Choose the composition of your first aid kit carefully and adjust it to our individual needs and conditions in the places of your planned stay.

Insurance

Before starting a trip abroad, it is recommended to take out an insurance policy which will cover possible medical costs, consequences of accidents and assistance costs.

Remember that while travelling in Europe we are insured by local health insurance. This also entitles us to use public health services in the European Union and EFTA countries (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland). However, not all services are in the EU and EFTA are free of charge, so it is recommended to take out insurance against medical expenses. Before leaving, you should make a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), which confirms your entitlement to health care services.
